For homework Year 1 children will be given weekly spellings.  All children will be given a new reading book each Friday. Other homework tasks will be posted on Seesaw.
Forest School will take place on a Friday afternoon.  The school will provide wet weather outfits, but please ensure your child has wellies in school to keep their school shoes clean.
PE lessons are on a Monday afternoon. 

Spring Term
The children have settled back into school life after a lovely Christmas break and have been very keen to share all the amazing memories that they have made with their families.  The children have come back ready to learn and have been really engaged with our new topic 'Once upon a time'.  We started off doing a WOW scavenger hunt around the forest schools area where we followed clues to find out about the traditional tales that we will be focusing on. 

Autumn Term
It's lovely to have all the children back in class after the long summer break.  We hope you made lots of special memories together.  The children have come back ready to learn and have been really engaged with our new topic 'Mad Machines'.  We started off doing a WOW scavenger hunt around the school where we followed clues to find the mad machines.  After asking the children what they would like to learn about during the topic we will be experimenting with magnets and the children will be inventing their own mad machine.  This will be part of a DT project where they will be testing, designing, making and evaluating their invention.
